Editorial disclosure: site operated by Genomax LLC (dba GenoMAX²); may earn commission on linked products.
NutraScienceWatch operates under a public editorial standards policy. Every article is written, reviewed, and updated per the protocol below.
Sourcing standards
Primary sources only
We cite from:
- PubMed-indexed peer-reviewed publications
- ClinicalTrials.gov registration entries
- FDA databases (warning letters, recall notices, GRAS notifications)
- Officially recognized monographs (USP, EP, JP, BP)
We do NOT cite:
- Press releases from supplement manufacturers
- Blog posts from competing supplement brands
- Affiliate review sites
- Wikipedia (we cite Wikipedia's underlying sources directly)
- Social media posts unless from verified public officials
Citation format
Every dose, mechanism, bioavailability figure, and clinical outcome carries an inline PubMed PMID or equivalent identifier:
"Berberine activates AMP-activated protein kinase (PMID 18397984)."
Readers can verify every claim by clicking the PMID link.
Methodology page
Every article links back to How We Review which describes the article-level review checklist.
Editorial independence
Sponsorship transparency
NutraScienceWatch is operated by Genomax LLC, a dietary supplement company doing business as GenoMAX². This relationship is disclosed:
- In the persistent header banner on every page
- Adjacent to every contextual product link
- On the About page
- In the editorial footer
Link policy
When an article references an ingredient we sell, we may include exactly ONE contextual link to the relevant Genomax LLC product page. This link:
- Carries
rel="sponsored" - Has a visible adjacent disclosure
- Is editorially relevant (not promotional)
- Uses generic anchor text (not product names)
We do not link to any other commercial brand. We do not accept paid placements from any third party.
Decline-to-cover policy
If an ingredient or product category has insufficient peer-reviewed evidence, we either decline to publish OR explicitly state the evidence gap. We do not publish to support sales of products with weak evidence.
Content review cycle
Quarterly review
Every article is reviewed once per quarter:
- Citations checked for currency
- New peer-reviewed publications integrated where relevant
- Outdated dosing or mechanism details revised
- Articles where evidence has weakened are retired
Reader-facing changelog
When an article undergoes a substantive revision, a changelog entry is published at the top of the article noting:
- Revision date
- Specific changes
- New citations added
Correction policy
Errors are corrected within 48 hours of detection. Significant corrections are noted at the top of the article in red text for 14 days, then moved to the changelog.
What we do NOT do
- Disease, cure, treatment, or prevention claims
- Personalized medical advice
- Diagnose-and-recommend funnels
- Comparative product reviews between competing brands
- Native-ad content mimicking editorial
- Sponsored content from third-party brands
- "Best of" lists ranked by commercial relationship
Editorial team
Articles are written and reviewed by the NSW Editorial Team, an internal editorial group operated by Genomax LLC. Individual author bylines are not disclosed at this time because:
- Personal identification of editorial staff is not material to article accuracy
- Authorship credentials are governed by the methodology, not individual qualifications
- The NSW Editorial Team operates as a collective, with cross-review on every article
See Editorial Team for team-level credentials and review process.
